Celtic under 19’s scored eight without reply against Queen of the South at a cold and wet Hampden Park in front of a vociferous Celtic crowd. The victory was the largest ever for a Scottish Youth Cup Final. Callum McGregor struck a hat-trick; Dylan McGeouch got a brace, while Filip Twardzik, Jackson Irvine and John Herron also scored for Celtic.

At an SPL general meeting today, the member clubs of the SPL unanimously approved the introduction of an Under-20 league which will kick off from next season 2012-

Despite the horror stories and doom and gloom in our game at the moment it’s a fact to say that there is great promise and potential in what’s happening with our kids game today. I never thought I’d hear myself say this but I think that the SFA may finally have cracked it

The draw for the quarter final of the SFA Youth Cup was made at Hampden Park today by SFA President Campbell Ogilvie. The draw is as follows: Livingston v Dundee United St Mirren v Stenhousemuir Queen of the South v Ayr United or Inverness Caledonian Thistle Aberdeen v Celtic or Dunfermline Athletic Ties to be played on Sunday, 12 February
