Hibernian today await the draw of the 5th round of the Scottish Cup after overcoming Cowdenbeath 3-2 at the weekend. Following a goal after just 19 seconds from Greig Stewart, Hibs responded with goals from Griffiths, Doyle and Wotherspoon before Jon Robertson made sure of a nervy finish for the SPL side as they desperately held on to the victory.

Coming into the fixture both sides had different problems. The Hibs side were and indeed are still languishing at the bottom end of the table, while Hearts are in a state of financial peril and despite this are pushing on and are sitting 4th in the table

Pat Fenlon ended his first derby in charge of Hibs with a defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Hearts. Both Edinburgh teams have tried to stake a claim as the third force in Scottish football, however recently neither is covering themselves in glory.Hearts overspending has finally caught up with them. There are plenty of youth players available at Tynecastle and they are being wrongly overlooked. Players which have helped the under-19 team rise to the top of the league
