JOE ARIBO is in advanced talks over a move to Southampton.

The Rangers midfielder is on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s wanted list, as Scotzine reported at the start of the week.

Aribo, who signed for the Ibrox club at the end of his contract with Charlton in June 2019, is believed to be poised to agreeing a £10million move to the south coast outfit, according to Sky Sports News.

It is understood the Nigerian international, who will celebrate his 26th birthday a fortnight tomorrow, is open to the move to St Mary’s where he will team up with former Celtic star Stuart Armstrong, 30, who made the switch in June 2018.

ON THE MOVE…Alfredo Morelos is attracting attention from interested clubs.

Aribo has one year left on his deal at Ibrox where he made an outstanding contribution, scoring nine goals – including the strike in the Europa League Final penalty-kick loss to Eintracht Frankfurt – in 57 appearances.

The Ibrox side have so far only added Hearts centre-back John Souttar to the squad this summer, while striker Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent are also in the final years of their deals.

Forty-year-old goalkeeper Allan McGregor has signed on for another 12 months with midfielders Steven Davis and Scott Arfield also extending their contracts.

Central defender Connor Goldson also ended speculation about his future by agreeing a new four-year deal.
