A NEW name has emerged as Ange Postecoglou plans to raid the top talent in the J-League during the January Sales.

The Celtic boss paid £4.6million for striker Kyogo Furuhashi from Vessel Kobe in the summer and the 26-year-old international star netted his 14th goal of the season in the 1-0 win over Hearts at Parkhead on Thursday evening.

After almost five months, he looks a bargain already and Postecoglou, who quit Yokohama F Marinos in June to succeed Neil Lennon at Parkhead, is poised to return once more to his old stomping ground as he continues his squad revamp.

Yosuke Ideguchi, the central midfielder who made 19 appearances for Gamba Osaka in the J-League which has now been completed, is the latest Japanese star to be linked with the Glasgow club, according to media outlet Hochi.

The 25-year-old middle of the park operator has previous experience in the UK after signing for Leeds United in 2017, but he never had a competitive first-team outing.

Pacy hitman Daizen Maeda, a player who was signed by the Greek-Australian for the Yokohama outfit in February, and left-sided defender Reo Hatate, who is out of contract with Kawasaki Frontale at the end of next month, have also been mentioned with a switch to Glasgow.

Postecoglou has already confirmed he is eager for deals to be wrapped up swiftly next month.

The Parkhead gaffer is now preparing for the noon kick-off against Dundee United at Tannadice tomorrow as the Hoops continue their quest for Premiership points.
