THE funeral of Celtic legend Bertie Auld will take place at midday a week tomorrow in St Mary of the Assumption, Abercromby Street, Calton, Glasgow.

Following the service, the funeral cortege will pass by Celtic Park and down The Celtic Way at approximately 1.30pm, according to an announcement on the club website.

The club will broadcast Bertie’s funeral live on Celtic TV and the Club’s YouTube channel for fans who wish to watch the service remotely.

For those heading to the stadium to pay tribute to Bertie, the club are also working on installing a big screen on the Celtic Way so that supporters in the vicinity can also watch the service.

The Hoops great, a hero of Lisbon 67 and so many silverware successes in Jock Stein’s all-conquering team in the sixties, sadly passed away on Sunday at the age of 83 just five months after the announcement he had been diagnosed with dementia.
