ST JOHNSTONE boss Callum Davidson has swooped to sign Rangers winger Glenn Middleton on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Scotland Under-21 international star has been on the Perth gaffer’s wanted list for some time and he managed to get the move over the line today.

Middleton has been out in the cold at Ibrox this season with only one appearance as a substitute in the Betfred League win over Falkirk before the club’s shock exit against St Mirren.

The pacy touchline ace played 28 times in the previous campaign. He had had previous temporary switches at Hibs and Bradford.

The Perth outfit overcame the Easter Road side 3-0 at the weekend to book their place in the Betfred League Cup Final where they will face rejuvenated Livingston who beat the Paisley Saints 1-0 with an early goal from Scott Robinson in the other last-four confrontation yesterday.

The teams will meet at Hampden on Sunday February 28 in the battle for the first domestic silverware of the 2020/21 season.
