SHEYI OJO is poised to quit Rangers and return to Liverpool with his loan contract due to expire at the end of the month.

The former England Under-21 international winger was part of boss Steven Gerrard’s rebuild last summer as he prepared for his second season in charge at Ibrox.

Ojo, 22, made a bright start to his career alongside the Anfield legend, but, as the season progressed, he mainly featured on the substitutes’ bench.

He scored five goals and provided seven assists in his 36 appearances for the Light Blues.

Ojo has already had temporary transfers at Wigan, Wolves and Fulham plus a spell in France, but he made it clear he would not forget his time in Glasgow – or the Gers followers.

The London-born flanker posted a video of his best moments alongside a message, stating: “Best fans in the world no doubt.

“You guys gave me love & some moments in my life I’ll never forget. Thank you.”

Gerrard confirmed earlier this week that Andy Halliday, Wes Foderingham and Jon Flanagan will be leaving the club at the end of their current deals, as Scotzine reported.

They will be joined by Jason Holt, Jordan Rossiter and Jak Alnwick who also leave the club on a permanent basis after spending last season out on loan at St Johnstone, Fleetwood and Blackpool respectively.
