FORMER Celtic fans’ favourite Patrick Roberts is wanted on a permanent basis at Middlesbrough.

The winger, who impressed during a lengthy loan spell and won six medals at Parkhead, looks to be on his way from Manchester City.

Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate, who took him to the Championship side in January after a spell at Norwich City, now wants to seal the deal.

Twenty-three-year-old Roberts made a good impression following his arrival before suffering a hamstring injury.

BORO BOUND…Patrick Roberts is on the Championship side’s wanted list.

The Riverside club also have Harold Moukoudi on loan from St Etienne and Woodgate, in a report in the Scottish Sun, admitted: “We don’t know how things will work out, but I’d love to sign them. I’m a big fan of both.”

The one-time England Under-19 international, who cost the big-spending Etihad outfit £12million when he joined from Fulham in 2015, made 79 appearances for the Hoops and scored 18 goals and has been linked with a return to the champions in recent times.

However, it looks as though Boro are determined to settle the future of the exciting player who is under contract at City until June 2022.
