JAKE HASTIE will make his first appearance in a Rangers shirt since Steven Gerrard cut short his loan deal at Rotherham.

The former Motherwell winger, who moved to Ibrox in June last year, had initially to remain at the English League One side for the entire season.

However, despite a bright start, the 20-year-old forward fell out of the first-team plans and returned to Gers a week ago today after just 16 appearances for the Millers.

Hastie will play for the Under-21s aainst their Celtic counterparts Celtic in the City of Glasgow Cup this afernoon.

The Ibrox line-up will also feature recent first-team debutants Nathan Patterson and Kai Kennedy.

The academy duo were handed opportunities by Gerrard during the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Stranraer last month.

Also involved are Cammy Palmer and Daniel Finlayson after it was confirmed they would join Matthew Shiels in triple loan move to Orange County.

Palmer, Finlayson and Shiels will join the USL outfit for their new season, which runs from March until November.
