FORMER Celtic winger Lewis Morgan is ready to team up with world superstar Edinson Cavani.
The Scotland international has already agreed a £400,000 switch from the champions to David Beckham American outfit Inter Miami.
And Morgan could be joined in the States with the Uruguayan strike ace who is poised to quit Paris Saint-Germain and has already had talks with the new MLS club.
Cavani, the French giants’ all-time leading goalscorer, is out of contract at the Ligue 1 club at the end of the campaign and will then be able to walk for free.
Inter owner Jorge Mas, speaking to Sky Sports News, revealed: “We have had conversations about Cavani, but I don’t want to make any comments further than that.”
The 32-year-old forward is valued at £25million which has proved to be too high for Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid who dropped interest yesterday.
Cavani, linked with Chelsea and Manchester United earlier this month, has started just four Ligue 1 fixtures this season and none in the Champions League group stage, appearing mainly as a substitute.
Morgan, who joined the Hoops in a £250,000 deal from St Mirren two years ago, is hoping to make his debut in the season opener against Los Angeles FC on March 1 before their first home match at the Inter Miami Stadium in Fort Lauderdale against Beckham’s former club, Los Angeles Galaxy a fortnight later.
BORNA BARISIC has agreed a new contract extension which will keep him at Rangers until 2024.
The Croatian defender was signed by Steven Gerrard from NK Osijek on a four-year contract in August 2018 and has since made 52 appearances.
The 27-year-old, who is the first choice left-back for his country, has scored two Premiership goals this season and has also provided seven assists from 18 league appearances.
Ibrox boss Gerrard, speaking to Sky Sports News, said: “I’m delighted that Borna has committed his future to Rangers.
“I speak to Borna a lot, so I know that he is very happy at the club and is enjoying his football right now.
“He has the support of the fans because of his performances on the pitch and we hope that continues for a long time at Rangers.”
Eduardo Herrera, meanwhile, has left the club to join Mexican side Club Puebla on a permanent deal.
The striker, 31, who arrived in Glasgow on a three-year contract in 2017, made only 23 outings.
Herrera spent last season on loan at Mexican side Santos Laguna before joining fellow Liga MX club Necaxa on a temporary basis at the start of the current campaign.
DANIEL STENDEL, Hearts’ head coach, has made another signing swoop in this month’s transfer window with the addition of countryman Marcel Langer.
The 22-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the season after leaving Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
The defensive midfielder made 27 appearances for the German outfit’s reserve team before moving to Tynecastle.
