SCOTTISH CUP DRAW: CELTIC AT FIRHILL, GERS GET STRANRAER AT IBROX

0

HOLDERS Celtic will kick off the defence of their Scottish Cup with a trip across Glasgow to take on Partick Thistle at Firhill in January.

It will be the second time this season the teams have clashed in domestic competition with Neil Lennon’s men facing the Maryhill men in the Betfred League Cup quarter-final at Parkhead in September.

The Hoops won 5-0 on the night they introduced teen sensation Jeremie Frimpong to first-team football.

Rangers are at home to Stranraer while Hibs travel to Dundee United for what looks like a dodgy tie for new manager Jack Ross.

There is another intriguing tie on Tayside with Dundee due to take on Motherwell at Dens Park. Hearts are at home to Airdrie while Aberdeen play Dumbarton at Pittodrie.

The ballot was made last night live on BBC Sportscene.

The full draw:

Partick Th v Celtic
