MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is poised to switch his interest from Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window – and cost Celtic millions!

The Old Trafford gaffer has been linked with a £75million swoop for the France international striker who joined Lyon from the Hoops in a £19.8million switch in August last year.

The champions insisted on a sell-on clause in the contract and would be liable to a percentage of any profit made by the Ligue 1 side.

In Dembele’s case, that could be in the region of £5million.

But, according to a report in the Daily Express, United have come to a verbal agreement with Juventus frontman Mario Mandzukic to take him to the struggling Premier League outfit at the turn of the year.

The 33-year-old Croatian international is seen as an experienced replacement for Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who quit in the summer.

Mandzukic, who is valued at £10million, has failed to make an appearance for the Turin side since Maurizio Sarri was appointed their head coach in the summer.

The solution will be a move in January and that could scupper a big-money bid for Dembele.
