STEVE CLARKE has called in Motherwell centre-back Declan Gallagher to his Scotland squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Russia in Moscow on Thursday and San Marino at Hampden three days later.
The Fir Park defender has replaced Norwich’s Grant Hanley who has pulled out along with Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack.
Gallagher, 28, a former Celtic trainee, wins his first call-up after impressing for Stephen Robinson’s since his summer arrival from Livingston.
The ex-Dundee star won consecutive promotions with the Lothian outfit before his switch to the Lanarkshire side where his club manager has been calling for Clarke to look at his player in recent weeks.
Hanley had not played since August 24 and a groin strain ruled him out of his side’s 5-1 thrashing from Aston Villa at the weekend.
Jack, who is suffering with a hamstring problem, sat out Gers’ 5-0 win over Hamilton Accies yesterday as Steven Gerrard’s team went to the top of the Premiership.
