STEVEN GERRARD insists continued interest in Alfredo Morelos is both a compliment to the striker and Rangers, according to Sky Sports.
Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are the latest club to be linked to the 28-goal Colombian hitman, as Scotzine reported earlier this week.
Morelos, 22, signed a new four-year deal at Ibrox last September and, despite FOUR red cards in a frantic campaign, his striking form has alerted potential suitors.
Gers gaffer Gerrard admitted: “I am sure it is flattering for Alfredo. In think it is a big compliment for him. It shows that he is in terrific form and he is in a great place.
“I love working with the player, he puts a smile on my face when I am out of bed and on my way to training to work with him because he is such a top, top player.”
Morelos told a radio station in his homeland last week he was aware of clubs monitoring his progress, but Gerrard said he is pleased his players are earning recognition.
The Liverpool legend added: “The interest and the speculation is not going to go away.
“That is something that we have to live with, but we certainly see it is a compliment because I would be more concerned and more worried if no one was interested in my players.”
Morelos is likely to be in action against Hibs at Easter Road tomorrow night as Gerrard hopes to cut leaders Celtic’s advantage at the top of the Premiership to five points.
Ryan Jack will also be in contention for a starting slot against the Edinburgh outfit – just days after it was feared he had broken a foot.
However, the midfielder is clear to play after scans showed no fracture.
