ABERDEEN skipper Graeme Shinnie is ready to sign a pre-contract agreement with Wigan.

The Pittodrie midfielder is poised to quit Derek McInnes’ team at the end of his current deal in the summer with the Championship outfit in pole position to snap him up.

Hull City and Brentford are also monitoring Shinnie’s situation and the loss of the 27-year-old Scotland international will be a huge disappointment to the club.

It looks as though Latics boss Paul Cook has sold Shinnie on a move to the DW Stadium and reports insist a deal is close to completion.

Dons chiefs spoke to the player before the squad flew out to Dubai for their winter training camp.

Shinnie made it clear he was in no rush to make a decision, insisting it was the most important of his career.

Meanwhile, McInnes is chasing a loan deal for Huddersfield’s England Under-19 international defender Jaden Brown.

The Dons gaffer is in the hunt for a new left-back after Max Lowe returned to Derby County following his temporary transfer.

Teenager Brown only joined the struggling Premier League side, who parted company with manager David Wagner yesterday, from Spurs at the start of this month.
