CELTIC winger James Forrest could be a sensational summer target for Liverpool, according to newspaper reports.

There are claims Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp has been keeping tabs on the Scotland international for a number of months.

Forrest has been one of Brendan Rodgers’ most consistent performers this season and has claimed 11 goals in 34 appearances, including four in a scintillating first-half performance against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in October.

The dazzling touchline terror also took the headlines when he thumped in a brilliant hat-trick for Scotland in their 3-2 triumph over Israel at Hampden in the European Nations qualifier in November.

He had netted twice in the 4-0 victory over Albania in the previous encounter in the competition.

Forrest is under contract at Parkhead until 2022 and Rodgers will be in no rush to part with the player, even at the suggested fee of £8million.
