DUNDEE have appealed the red card shown to Nathan Ralph in the 1-1 draw with Rangers at Dens Park on Sunday.

Referee Alan Muir ordered off the defender in the 20th minute following a challenge on Ibrox winger Daniel Candeias.

Gers midfielder Andy Halliday equalised former team-mate Kenny Miller’s opening goal from the resulting 20-yard free-kick, but the struggling Tayside outfit held on for point.

The club have now confirmed their intention to appeal the sending-off on the grounds of unfair dismissal, with a Fast Track Tribunal Hearing due to be heard tomorrow.

Boss Jim McIntyre, who replaced sacked Neil McCann in October, admitted he was proud of his players who weathered the storm for 70 minutes.

The precious point moved Dundee off the foot of the Premiership table, into 11th place and above rock-bottom St Mirren on goal difference.
