ABERDEEN will face holders Celtic in the Betfred League Cup Final on Sunday, December 2.

The Dons overcame the other half of the Old Firm, Rangers, 1-0 in yesterday’s semi-final at Hampden after Brendan Rodgers’ side had overwhelmed Hearts 3-0 at Murrayfield earlier in the day.

Here is how the Pittodrie outfit scored the memorable matchwinner to stun Steven Gerrard’s new-look Ibrox side.

AIR RAID…Lewis Ferguson, just in front of Michael Devlin, gets up to make contact with Niall McGinn’s left-wing cover-kick.

WHOOSH…the ball zeroes in on target as keeper Allan McGregor throws out a hand.

BANG…Ferguson turns away as the ball slams into the net.

YIPPEE…the Dons marksman turns away in delight as Stevie May rushes to congratulate him.

KNEESY DOES IT… Ferguson slides along the turf in celebration.

HAIL THE HERO…Scott McKenna grabs his team-mate as they celebrate.

CHEERS…Gary Mackay-Steven joins in the fun.

BRING ON CELTIC…Derek McInnes raises his fists in triumph as he looks forward to December’s meeting with Brendan Rodgers’ men. Pics: Geo.
