RANGERS have knocked back a £3.75million bid for Alfredo Morelos from French outfit Bordeaux.

And Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is stepping up his efforts to bring Kyle Lafferty back to the club.

The Liverppool legend expects to be busy before the curtain comes down on the transfer window at the end of the month.

Turkish giants Fenerbache are also keen on Colombian striker and have already had a £2.6million offer rejected.

Morelos signed from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017 for £1.5million and has scored twice in the Europa League qualifiers and once in the Premiership in this campaign.

The 22-year-old attacker was a hit for he Gers last season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions but his discipline on the pitch has often been questionable.

Morelos was booked 13 times last term in 43 appearances and he was sent off only 12 minutes into the league season against Aberdeen although the red card was later downgraded to a yellow.

Lafferty, meanwhile, could be on his way back to his old club with Gerrard about to up the ante for the 30-year-old Northern Ireland international who has only 12 months to run on his Hearts contract.

The Tynecastle outfit have already turned down an initial £200,000 bid for the attacker who scored the winning goal against Celtic at the weekend.

But they could be tempted to do a deal if Gers outcast Lee Wallace, the Edinburgh side’s former captain, is part of the package.
