ALFREDO MORELOS has been backed by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to hit the heights this season.
The Colombian striker has had a mixed reaction among the Ibrox fans following his £1million move from HJK Helsinki last summer.
Morelos scored the only goal of the game in the win against Osijek seven days ago and netted again in the 3-0 friendly win over Wigan on Sunday.
He will lead the line against the Croatians in Glasgow this evening as the Gers look to clinch a Europa League third qualifying round.
Gerrard said: “I’m still learning what floats his boat. He’s still getting used to me.
“But I see him smiling and enjoying his training. And having watched from outside and what I am seeing now, I think you can see a different player.
“If we can keep him fit and sharp I have no doubt he will score goals for this club. He is a threat and someone you wouldn’t like to play against when he is at it.”
