ABERDEEN defender Mark Reynolds will be out for the rest of the year after undergoing knee surgery.
The Dons star sustained the injury in pre-season and Derek McInnes admitted the club’s “worst fears” were confirmed as he underwent surgery on Thursday.
The Pittodrie boss said: “We’re going to be without him for the next six or seven months. So, it’s a huge blow, especially when these things happen in a pre-season game.
“Knowing the character that Mark has, we’re hoping his rehabilitation will be as straight forward as possible.”
The 31-year-old back-four performer joined the club in 2012 on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and made the move permanent the following year. He has made 237 appearances for the Reds.
