WILLO FLOOD has cancelled his contract at Dunfermline just one week after joining – to agree a move to Indonesian side Bali United.

The 33-year-old midfielder switched to East End Park when his contract with Dundee United expired at the end of the season and began pre-season training last week.

However, former Celtic and Aberdeen star Flood – who had a clause in his Fifers’ deal allowing him to leave for a foreign club – is now heading for Bali in the country’s top-flight, Liga 1.

Flood said: “I would like to thank Allan Johnston, the Dunfermline manager, and the club for their understanding in this matter, as I fully appreciate it leaves them in a very difficult and embarrassing position.

“This opportunity is just too good for me and my family to turn down. I have only been in training for a week, but I have really enjoyed my short time at East End Park and genuinely wish the club every success this season.”

Johnston described the Irishman as a “great professional” and added the Fifers had a “first option” to sign him if he returns to Scotland.
