FORMER Celtic hero Murdo MacLeod believes Moussa Dembele would be a massive hit with Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old French striker has been linked with the Bundesliga outfit where the ex-Hoops assistant boss had a three-year spell from 1987/90.

Dembele, bought for a £500,000 Development Fee by Brendan Rodgers from Fulham in 2016, still has two years left on his Hoops contract and is valued in the £20million bracket, at least.

MacLeod said: “It would be a great move for Dembele. Dortmund are an iconic, massive club.

“Dembele has been a top player for Celtic, but it looks likely he will move on and he needs to choose his next step carefully.

“The Bundesliga is full of quality teams and any young player looking to progress would be wise to move there.

“You are being tested every week.

“Edouard looks like he will be a regular and Leigh Griffiths will also play his fair share of games, so it’s all pointing towards Dembele leaving.”
