MORTON are poised to name former Dundee United boss Ray McKinnon as their new manager.
The Greenock side sacked Jim Duffy near the end of the season, which saw them finish seventh in the Championship.
McKinnon has been out of work since leaving Tannadice in October. The 47-year-old has also managed Raith Rovers and Brechin City.
He helped the Fifers and United reach the second-tier play-offs during his time in charge, but was unable able to secure a place in the Premiership for either.
The Cappielow outfit are keen to have McKinnon in place as soon as possible with several out-of-contract players leaving the club. The new coach will have to move quickly to rebuild a squad for the new campaign.
