CELTIC are closing in on a permanent deal for on-loan striker Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint Germain.

The 20-year-old French ace could become Brendan Rodgers’ first summer signing for a fee of around the £7million mark.

Positive talks with the French giants are ongoing, with a deadline of June 16 having been set to take up the option of a long-term contract.

Edouard made positives strides at the champions as the season unfolded and scored the winner against Rangers at Ibrox in March and then fired in two as the Hoops blitzed the Govan outfit 5-0 a month later to seal their seventh successive Premiership title.

Meanwhile, club chiefs have also budgeted for a £5million upgrade of Celtic Park, with work due to start on a new hybrid pitch, new roofing for the south stand, the PA system and new floodlights on all four stands.

The club are also pressing ahead with proposals for a full-size indoor pitch and have put plans for a hotel out to tender.
