MOTHERWELL centre-back Cedric Kipre has an unusual target ahead of his team’s Scottish Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden on May 19.

The 21-year-old Fir Park ace joked: “Hopefully, I can stay on the pitch for 90 minutes this time!”

Kipre has been dismissed twice in games against the Hoops this season  red-carded in the 2-0 League Cup Final defeat in November and once again in the goalless draw last month.

The sending-off in the Premiership game following a clash with Scott Brown was later downgraded to a booking.

Now the Well back-four operator can’t wait for the Hampden showpiece and said: “I wanted to come back here and have another crack at a Cup Final as I was very disappointed with what happened in the League Cup.

“I enjoyed the Aberdeen match at the weekend and we played a good game. Everybody at the club is happy we have reached another Cup Final. We are now going to try our best to win the trophy. Regardless of my personal history against Celtic I just want to win the Cup now.

“If everyone is in good form then we can win. We just need to have the belief and determination we can do it.”

Kipre added: “Everything that has happened at Motherwell this season was not what I was expecting.

“It has turned out to be so much better. I am very proud to play for this club.

“I did not expect to play every game and to reach the Final of the two Cup competitions.

“This season has been absolutely amazing. It has also been a great few weeks for me. I am a very happy man.”

Kipre has established himself as a firm favourite among the Motherwell supporters who even have their own song for him.
