SCOTT ARFIELD will join Rangers on a four-year deal when his Burnley contract expires at the end of next month, as Scotzine reported on Tuesday.

The former Falkirk midfielder will quit Turf Moor after five years at the club to return to Scottish football.

Boss Sean Dyche said: “Rangers asked us about Scott Arfield and what his position was. Scott was a boyhood Rangers fan and that one’s pretty simple in its form if they want to speak to him.”

Arfield, 29, has scored two goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season.

The Canadian international joined Burnley from Huddersfield in 2013 and has since scored 22 goals in 193 games.

Scots-born Arfield represented his nation at Under-19 and 21 levels before switching his allegiances to Canada.
