‘NEVER A RED CARD,’ WELL BOSS

0

RAGING Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson hit out at referee Craig Thomson after he sent off Cedric Kipre in the scoreless stalemate against Celtic this afternoon.

The flashpoint incident happened in the 41st minute when the Fir Park defender clashed with Hoops skipper Scott Brown.

Match official Thomson – who ordered off the same player against Brendan Rodgers’ side in the League Cup Final earlier this season – did not hesitate to show the red card to Kipre.

Robinson was incensed by the decision and pointed all five of Thomson’s dismissals this season have been directed at Motherwell .

SEEING RED…referee Craig Thomson sends off Cedric Kipre after his tussle with the grounded Celtic skipper Scott Brown.

He said afterwards: “I didn’t believe it was a red card. Two people have brushed against each other, so if it had been a yellow card, I don’t think anyone would have been screaming and crying for red cards.

“The same referee has sent off five Motherwell players now and he hasn’t sent off anyone else from any other Premiership side.

“All I wanted to talk about was how well our players did, but the game is going to be overshadowed by a decision again.

“I didn’t think there was very much in the challenge at all.

“If one pushes someone and the other brushes his leg against him – it certainly wasn’t a stamp as was indicated, not in any shape or form.”
