CELTIC new Bhoy Jack Hendry has been called into the Scotland squad for the friendlies with Costa Rica at Hampden on Friday and Hungary in Budapest a week tomorrow.
The 22-year-old defender, who arrived from Dundee in January, made his fifth appearance for the Hoops in yesterday’s goalless draw against Motherwell at Fir Park.
Hendry, normally a centre-half, showed his versatility by playing right-back with Mikael Lustig on the substitutes’ bench.
Alex McLeish added him to his player pool after his Parkhead team-mate Kieran Tierney withdrew with a calf injury along with on-loan Ranger Russell Martin who has a back strain.
