DAZZLING James Forrest hit the first hat-trick of his career as holders Celtic defeated Partick Thistle 3-2 to reach tomorrow’s Scottish Cup quarter-final draw.
The Hoops winger scored twice in 10 minutes at Parkhead this afternoon and looked to have put Brendan Rodgers’ team in easy street.
However, a dreadful error from  the sloppy Jozo Simunovic allowed Jags striker Kris Doolan to pull one back in the 20th minute.
Forrest fired in his third nine minutes after the turnaround before another slack pass from Simunovic was seized upon by Chris Erskine who set up Conor Sammon to pull one back near the end.

Boss Rodgers will undoubtedly be concerned with some defensive lapses ahead of the first leg of their Europa League tie against Russian cracks Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday.

Before kick-off there was a minute’s silence in tribute to former Celtic midfielder Liam Miller who died last night following a battle with cancer at the age of 36.

In the other ties, former Rangers star Kyle Lafferty scored twice as Hearts beat St Johnstone 3-0, Kilmarnock coasted to a 4-0 triumph over Highlanders Brora, Falkirk also overcame Cove Rangers 3-1, Motherwell pulled off a 2-0 success at Dundee and Morton walloped Dumbarton 3-0.
Rangers face Ayr United at Somerset Park tomorrow afternoon while Aberdeen take on Dundee United at Pittodrie later in the day.
