ROGIC POISED FOR CELTIC RETURN

0

TOM ROGIC is standing by for some long-awaited game-time with Celtic skipper Scott Brown suspended for tomorrow’s Premiership tussle with St Johnstone at Parkhead.

The Australian international midfielder has been sidelined for two months with a knee injury.

Rogic hoped to come off the substitutes’ bench in last week’s 3-2 Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle.

However, Brendan Rodgers was forced into a change of mind after Conor Sammon pulled one back for the Jags with six minutes to go.

The more defensive-mind Eboue Kouassi came on instead for hat-trick hero James Forrest as the Hoops boss played it safe.

And Rogic’s hopes of a game for the Development squad at the start of the week were scuppered when the pitch at Cappielow was declared unplayable.

Nir Bitton is likely to be out for the season with a knee problem and the Isreali will be sidelined along with Craig Gordon and Anthony Ralson (both knee), Dedryck Boyata (groin), Leigh Griffiths and Marvin Compper (both calf), Jonny Hayes (broken leg), Stuart Armstrong (hernia) and Patrick Roberts (hamstring).

Provisional squad: De Vries, Lustig, Tierney, Hendry, Ajer, Gamboa, Simunovic, Ntcham, McGregor, Musonda, Rogic, Forrest, Sinclair, Dembele, Edouard, Kouassi, Miller and Bain.
