HAMPDEN TO HOST COSTA RICA FRIENDLY

0

SCOTLAND’S friendly against Costa Rica on Friday, March 23 will be held at Hampden Park.

The Scots will prepare for their 2018 UEFA Nations League campaign starting with this clash against the Central Americans followed by friendlies against Hungary, Peru and Mexico.

The only previous meeting between the two sides ended in a shock 1-0 win for Costa Rica at the 1990 World Cup Finals in Italy.

The match could be the first for a new international boss, with the side currently without a manager following Gordon Strachan’s departure in October.

Scotland were one of the top seeds in League C for the UEFA Nations League and were drawn against Albania and Israel, ahead of the first round of matches for the 2018/2019 season starting in September.
