JAMIE WALKER has today completed his move from Hearts to English League One side, Wigan Athletic.
This will be frustrating news for Rangers who have coveted the player for the last year or so and were expected to move for him in the summer.
But the winger has now signed on a two-and-a-half year deal with Wigan and leaves Edinburgh having played 190 times.
Walker, 24, had been a target for Rangers but the £300k bid from the Latics proved to be enough to convince Hearts and Walker.
Speaking to the Wigan official website, Walker revealed his delight at the move.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and excited by the challenge.
“The team are flying high at the top of the table and hopefully going to the Championship – hopefully I can get into the team and contribute a few goals.”
