MURPHY NEARS ‘DREAM’ GERS MOVE

0

JAMIE MURPHY could become Graeme Murty’s first signing as the Rangers manager after the player arrived in Glasgow to finalise the move.

The ex-Motherwell man will join on a three-and-a-half year deal; after an agreement was struck between Brighton and the Ibrox club for a fee of around £1 million pounds.

Murphy starred in the Championship last season for Brighton; however, he hasn’t seen enough game time in the Premier League and the seaside club were willing to sell for the right price.

The former Sheffield United man spoke ahead of his proposed move to confirm that he was about to fulfil his lifelong ambition, playing for Rangers.

“It’s a dream to sign for Rangers. I’ve known about a possible move for a while and although it’s not all quite done yet it’s good to be home.

“Rangers are the club I supported as a boy and are the club I still support now. It’s been a good season so far but there are always ways to improve. Hopefully we get the medical done now and then see what happens.”

Murphy is expected to complete his medical and sign for Rangers today.
