FORMER Celtic striker Ben Hutchison has joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Carlton Town in the EIGHTH level of English football.
Ex-Hoops boss Gordon Strachan snapped up the highly-rated hitman from Middlesbrough in January 2008.
Hutchison, now 30, said at the time: “It will be a tremendous experience to play in front of 60,000 fans.”
Carlton’s Stokeld Stadium has a capacity of 1,500 with 164 seated.
Head Coach Wayne Scott said: “We are delighted to have brought in someone of Ben’s experience.”
Hutchison played five first team games with the Parkhead men without scoring a goal and had loan spells at Swindon and Dundee before ex-Bhoys hero Chris Sutton took him to Lincoln City in August 2010.
A year later, he returned to Scotland on a six-month contract with contract at Kilmarnock.
Since leaving Rugby Park in January 2012, the powerfully-built attacker has played at Mansfield Town, Nuneaton, Bosford United, Belper Town and now Carlton Town.
