JOHN SOUTTAR will miss Hearts’ Tynecastle homecoming on Saturday after concussion suffered on Scotland U21’s duty on Friday versus Latvia. The 21-year-old was substituted after suffering a head knock at McDiarmid Park, which saw him hospitalised as a result.
Speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, Souttar’s manager, Craig Levein revealed that the centre-half would be out of the visit from Alan Archibald’s Patrick Thistle at the weekend and potentially the visit of Owen Coyle’s Ross County the week after.
“He got quite a bad bang on his head and was concussed, so they kept him overnight in hospital.
“He’s going to struggle for this week and possibly the following week as well. It’s unfortunate, obviously. It was quite a bad knock he got so with these things we have to be ultra careful.”
Hearts will return to Tynecastle this weekend after playing a number of fixtures at Murrayfield as the main stand reconstruction continued to run over schedule.
