REPORTS SAY PEDRO AXED

PEDRO CAIXINHA has been sacked by Rangers this afternoon after the emergency board meeting, reports suggest.

The Portuguese manager was under immense pressure following the 2-0 defeat to Motherwell at Hampden in the Betfred Cup Final before last night’s 1-1 home draw to Kilmarnock.

The 46-year-old was appointed in March and oversaw just 27 games in his tenure, losing 8, drawing 5 and winning 14 – which left him with a win rate of just over 51%.

Caixinha left training earlier and said that he was still the right man for the job but Dave King and the board appear to have disagreed and have decided to cut his reign as Ibrox boss short.
