PEDRO CAIXINHA has confirmed that Kenny Miller will be in contention to be in the Rangers squad for Friday’s visit to St Johnstone.
The Portuguese gaffer reportedly held talks with Miller after he was dropped for the win away to Hamilton Accies in the aftermath of the humbling defeat to Celtic the week before at Ibrox.
However, Caixinha has confirmed that Miller has returned from his stint with the U20’s and is back involved with the first team.
“Kenny is one of our players from the squad like all the others. All of them have the same respect and behaviour from our side.
“But I’m the manager. I decide the players who will start the game, I decide the players that are going to be in the squad, and I also decide the players who will be out of the squad. Kenny is definitely one of ours and, like all the others, it depends on my decision.”
Caixinha was complimentary of the veteran forward’s attitude in the wake of being dropped from the side.
“With full respect. He’s a senior player, he understands things.
“We spoke, we clarify everything regarding those decisions, because sometimes it’s important for you to justify the decisions. Other times I don’t have to justify anything. But we clarified everything and, as I told you, he’s one of ours.”
However, Miller may not be fit for the trip to Perth on Friday as Caixinha suggested that he’d picked up a minor knock.
