DUNDEE UNITED have sacked Ray McKinnon today, following two consecutive defeats for the Tannadice side.
Sources suggest that the former United player will leave the club, with an announcement from the club imminent.
Stephen Thompson and the United board met straight after the 2-0 home defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, which leaves the Arabs fourth.
McKinnon, who’s side were the early favourites to gain automatic promotion to the Premiership, signed an array of proven talents, such as Scott McDonald, Fraser Fyvie, James Keatings and Paul Quinn; however, three defeats in ten sees them five points behind St Mirren.
Ex-Ross County manager and United striker Jim McIntyre will be the early favourite to take over at Tannadice as the club attempt to regain a place in the top-flight.
