CELTIC have suffered a major blow ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich with the news that Jozo Simunovic has been ruled out.
The Bosnian defender returned to training last Thursday but didn’t travel with the squad that travelled to Germany today.
Brendan Rodgers has decided not to risk the powerhouse central defender in the match in Bavaria.
The 23-year-old has been recovering from a tear in his hamstring which was spotted by the Bosnian medical team when he reported for World Cup duty. Both the player and manager Brendan Rodgers were hopeful that he would make this crucial match but it’s not to be.
It is now likely that Nir Bitton will now join Dedryck Boyata at the heart of the Celtic defence for the Group B clash.
Better news is that skipper Scott Brown and free scoring midfielder Stuart Armstrong both boarded the plane and are likely to feature.
The match kicks off at 19:45 and is live exclusively on BT Sport, for those who didn’t travel over!
