RANGERS boss Pedro Caixinha says he wants two players fighting for every position in his team and believes that the late transfer window loan signing of left back Declan John from Cardiff City will add “competitiveness” to the Ibrox squad.
“I know I have cover, options and solutions in all the positions,” Caixinha stated.
“I was only going to be disappointed with the transfer window if I didn’t have cover in every position and I do.”
Rangers get back to Premiership action after the International break when Dundee visit Ibrox on Saturday and Caixinha reckons that the Dens Park side have a decent manager this season.
“I think Neil McCann is a positive coach. You have to look at the way a manager is to see how his team play.”
Meanwhile Fabio Cardoso can’t believe the fame that goes with playing for a club like Rangers. The defender, who joined Rangers from Vitoria Setubal has been blown away by the reaction he’s had from the supporters as he begins his there year contract at the club. It’s clearly not something he has experienced elsewhere in his career.
“Yes, it’s quite new”, Cardoso said. “I played at Benfica, a big club. But I didn’t play for their first team.
“The teams where I’ve been on loan were not big teams.
“The people in Scotland, the Rangers supporters are very passionate.
“They pass their passion to us and I think it’s very important and it’s very good.”
