CELTIC are helping former player Kris Commons get fit so that he can join the ex-Celts colony at Easter Road.
Commons hopes to join up with ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon, defender Efe Ambrose and striker Anthony Stokes if he can recover sufficiently from the back problems he has endured over the past few years.
Commons went under the knife two months ago and hopes that the recovery period is nearing its conclusion. If it’s all fine then you can expect Hibs to announce the signing of Kris Commons in the next few weeks.
The former Scotland international explained his situation yesterday.
“It’s eight weeks since I had my back operation. I am just upping my rehabilitation with the facilities at Celtic; they’re letting me use their treadmill, bikes and physiotherapy,” he revealed.
“Hopefully within the next ten days to two weeks I’ll be back outside running and changing direction, and hopefully lacing up my boots again.
“And that will be the true test as to whether I can play football again or not.”
