CELTIC fans will have one eye on Olympiakos’ result against Rijeka in Croatia tonight as they hope for a more favourable draw in the Champions League group stages.
The Hoops are currently the top-ranked team in pot four ahead of Thursday afternoon’s ballot in Monte Carlo.
Four teams in higher pots have still to get through the play-off round and if one of them is eliminated then Brendan Rodgers’ side will be elevated.
Liverpool and Sevilla both won away from home in their first legs, while Napoli will defend a 2-0 lead in Nice this evening.
But Olympiakos, who are currently in pot three, will defend a precarious 2-1 advantage against Rijeka.
The Greeks trailed the Croats at half-time a week ago and needed an injury-time goal to gain their slender advantage.
If the home side prevail tonight, they’ll qualify for pot four, the Greeks will drop out and the Hoops will be promoted to pot three.
