ST JOHNSTONE’S Chris Millar believes that his side are far from out of the Europa League despite their home defeat to FK Trakai.
The 34-year-old midfielder was in the side that was beaten 2-1 by the Lithuanians on Thursday and it would appear that their exit was a foregone conclusion; however, Millar believes that they have what it takes to turn the tie around.
“I didn’t want to come back after 19 days off just to go out at the first stage. That would be a disappointment.”
“I thought we made them look better than they were. Of course it is going to be difficult but I would be lying if I said I didn’t think we could do it. We are in a difficult position but I think we have enough quality to get a result.”
St Johnstone prepared for the crunch tie with a 3-0 home defeat to Aberdeen, in which Tommy Wright named a youthful side as Thursday remains the prime focus.
