ABERDEEN have had a bid rejected for Motherwell’s talisman Louis Moult.
The Pittodrie side have seen their bid of £250,000 knocked back for the 25-year-old that has scored 18 goals in the past two seasons.
Moult who has been offered new terms by the Fir Park club’s boss Stephen Robinson – which would make him the highest paid player at the club.
The Dons have already signed Nicky Maynard, Ryan Christie and Greg Stewart; whilst the club were pursuing Stevie May, however these talks seem to have stalled meaning that the attention has turned to Moult.
Derek McInnes looks keen to bolster his ranks after losing a number of players in the close-season – including Niall McGinn and Jonny Hayes, who went to Celtic.
McInnes is still confident in the deal for Shaun Maloney to be completed
“With Shaun, there’s still a willingness from both parties to try to get a deal done, but he flagged up a concern.
“Shaun wants to be here and wants to be our best player, he doesn’t want to be a burden or anything like that.”
Aberdeen kick off their European journey with the Bosnian side Brijeg visiting Pittodrie on Thursday.
