SCOBBIE EXCITED BY DUNDEE UNITED MOVE

1

DUNDEE UNITED have completed the signing of defender Thomas Scobbie following his release from St Johnstone.

Scobbie, 29, has joined Ray McKinnon’s Premiership promotion drive on a two-year deal after five years in Perth.

Speaking to his new club’s official website, the defender praised the club: “I am excited to join United. It is a great club with fantastic support.”

“When I spoke to the manager, I knew this was where I wanted to sign and I am delighted to have my future secured.”

Manager McKinnon was full of praise for his third new signing, after Billy King and James Keatings. “Thomas is an excellent defender who can play both left-back and central, and he will enhance our defensive options.”

“As important, he is also a great organiser, a real leader with plenty of experience and these are vital characteristics for me.”

“We need to add more players, and I expect to further add to the squad before pre-season begins.”

Dundee United will face McKinnon’s former side, Raith Rovers, on 15 July in their first competitive action of the season in the Betfred Cup.
