MOTHERWELL haven’t waited about in beginning their preparations for season 2017/18 by culling eleven players and opening extension talks with three.
Motherwell have told Craig Samson, Joe Chalmers, Lee Lucas, Zak Jules, Craig Moore, David Ferguson, Stephen Pearson, Scott McDonald, Dylan Mackin, Tom Fry and Jordan Pettigrew all to find new clubs as they will not be rewarded with new deals at Fir Park.
Stephen Robinson has told the eleven that they are not in his plans and will leave when the transfer window officially opens on 1 June. However, Robinson will be hopeful that he can sign Keith Lasley, Lionel Ainsworth and Russell Griffith on new deals as the trio’s deals expire in the summer.
Meanwhile, Robinson will be keen to hold onto Louis Moult, who’s goal scoring prowess has earned him the interest of Rangers and numerous clubs down south.
The Fir Park boss will set about re-building his squad and plans to give youth its chance next season with a target of a top six finish for the North Lanarkshire club.
