Dundee United have started their summer recruitment drive early. The Tannadice club today signed James Keatings from Hibs.
Keatings, 25, started his career at Celtic before spells at Hamilton, Hearts and Hibs since his release from the Parkhead side.
The striker has become a Championship good-luck charm with each of his teams enjoying promotions to the Premiership and Ray McKinnon will hope he gets the rub of the green ahead of his sides crucial match to Greenock Morton in the playoff hunt.
With 8 goals in 30 appearances for the Championship winners in 2016/17, the Arabs will hope he can bring goals to their misfiring attack and put them back in the Premiership.
Speaking to United’s official website Keatings said: “I look forward to joining Dundee United. I have enjoyed playing at Tannadice, and I know I am joining a fantastic club with a great reputation who are set up to be in the Premiership.”
Keatings continued, signalling his ambitions with the Tannadice club: “My goal is to be scoring in the Premiership for United whether it is next season or beyond.”
Keatings has seen his game time under Neil Lennon at Hibs limited as Lennon prefers in-form James Cummings and veteran Grant Holt to lead the line, with 11 of his 30 appearances coming from the bench.
