BILLY KING has signed a pre-contract at Dundee United after two spells on loan at Rangers and Inverness CT from Hearts.
The 22-year-old winger has been told that he surplus to requirements at Tynecastle.
King has made 32 appearances for Inverness CT this season, with the Highlanders rock bottom in the Premiership with 3 games to go.
The player is relishing the new challenge he will have next season at Tannadice. Yesterday he spoke of his excitement at signing for Dundee United.
“I remain focused on finishing the season strongly with Inverness,” King told the club’s website.
“But I am looking forward to pre-season training and meeting my new team-mates at United and showing United fans what I can do.
“I am delighted to secure my future at a club like Dundee United. The time is right for me to move on from my parent club Hearts and I will leave Tynecastle with some great memories, but I am excited about the future.”
Ray McKinnon’s United have already signed James Keatings from Hibs on a similar deal amidst the club’s push for the Premiership. United took one step closer when they defeated Greenock Morton at Cappielow 2-1, with the second leg on Friday determining who will face Falkirk in the Play-Off semi-final.
Inverness would probably bite your hand off to move off the automatic relegation spot and go into the Play-off Final, where they could face Dundee United!
That would be a somewhat awkward situation for Billy King to find himself in!
