HEARTS have decided that winger Billy King will be released on free transfer this summer after boss Ian Cathro and his director of football Craig Levein have come to the conclusion that the player has no future in their squad rebuilding plans at Tynecastle.
The winger, who previously had a six month loan spell at Rangers, has been on a season long loan deal at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Other than scoring a screamer against Champions Celtic in September in a 2-2 draw in the Highlands, King has failed to set the heather on fire at relegation bound Caley.
King has made 31 appearances for the Highland club and scored three goals.
The 22-year-old must now be on the lookout for a new club as Hearts start their summer rebuild job under head coach Cathro and his boss Craig Levein.
